College Of Education Akwanga Gives Staff June 2024 To Acquire Computer Knowledge

The management of the College of Education, Akwanga in Nasarawa State has called on all its staff to acquire proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint before June 2024 or risk disengagement from service.

This was contained in a Communique issued at the end of a retreat for the Governing Council, Management staff, dean, and Unions of the College held at De-Mandoli Hotel and Suits in Karu Local Government.

The opening ceremony was chaired by the Chairman Governing Council of the College, Shaya Awotu as he maintained that the stakeholders’ meeting was timely and became necessary to ensure good governance by applying probity, accountability, and quality service delivery by bringing all stakeholders together to proffers solution to issues bothering the College.

The communique however indicates that the Governing Council and the management have resolved that all staff of the College MUST be computer literate on or before June 2024.

It further maintained that any staff that failed to meet up to the dateline, that is did not meet up to the directive of the Governing Council and management will not be required by the College after this date, in this regard, all staff of the College MUST have sufficient proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.

The Governing Council and management of the College however resolved that periodic training and retraining of staff are carried out to equip staff with necessary techniques for operations which will enhance their overall performance.

It was also resolved that lecturers shall be more committed to their work by ensuring that they cover the course contents of their courses and release results one month from the last date of the examination
