The authority of the College of Education Akwanga has taken a proactive step towards producing a quality student, but not a quantity of students as it was obtainable some years back.
The stringent measure taken by the Governing Council and Management of the College at the end of a retreat which a Communique was issued at De-Mamdoli hotels and Suites held at Karu recently.
The authorities of the College resolved that the admission policy of the College shall prioritize the quality of students over and above the number of students, and as such, there shall be regular monitoring of academic activities and students’ appraisal of lecturers shall be encouraged to maintain academic standards.
The Chairman of, the Governing Council, Ishaya Awotu in an exclusive interview with Universal Reporters Online shortly at the end of the Governing Council marathon meeting said the Governing Council and the management are on a rescue mission to produce quality students not minding the quantity.
This call was coming at a time when the Chairman House Committee on Education, Honorable Danladi Jata’u , a Member representing Kokona West (APC) urged education to accord topmost priority to the quality of students but not the quantity of students.
