COCIN President Challenges Federal Govt On Staff Salaries By Yakubu Busari,Jos

The 87th General Church Council of the Church of ChrIst in Nations ,COCIN,has challenged the  federal government to take proactive measure  over inconsistent ,delay and lack of payment of salaries of staff in some  states.
He also called on the government at all levels to intensify its effort in reducing the plight of internally displaced persons and also to create structures of rehabilitating them.
The President of COCIN,Rev. Dr. Dachollom Datiri made this call in a communique issued at the end of the 87th GCC meeting at Church headquarters.
The statement condemned the continuous abduction of girls ,men and women in the North East by Boko Haram and calls for the release of all abductees, especially the over 200 Chibok school girls.
Rev. Datiri calls on believers who are in politics to exhibit the true character of Christ by playing the game according to the rules.
He added that members should be sensitive and ensure that they vote people that fear God; to be security conscious during the election period and should not become instruments of violence and mischief by politicians.
The COCIN condoles those who lost their love ones during the various attacks by Boko Haram and also appreciates the contributions of relief materials from her members in response to the needs of the internally displacement victims in the country.
Datiri commends the federal government ,more particularly our military and other security personnel ,in their fight against the insurgency ,adding ,the military should do more and fish out all 5th columnists in their rank and file.

He appealed to all Christians to focus on God in truth ,justice and righteousness and shun corruption,for the church henceforth will not tolerate any member found to be corrupt.
