An Islamic group popularly known as Ansar-ud-deen Society of Nigeria has reiterated that terrorist activities in whatever form has no correlation with Islam and its teachings.
Yusuf Adebayo Ibrahim who is the National Vice President of the group said this on Saturday while delivering a speech during the group’s 7th Triennial congress with the theme “the global effect of corruption and insecurity on Islam “held at Treasure Inn hotel in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau state.
According to him, Islamic religion which often teaches peaceful coexistence and discourages violence whatsoever has no recognition for killing or destruction.
He emphasised that those engaging in killing innocent individuals in the name of religion or attaching themselves to Islam have no basis for such action adding that ,’ they are ordinary killers pretending to be what they are not but not Muslims.
While condemning terrorism , the vice president however urged Nigerians across the country to be patient with the current economic hardship in the country as there would be light at the end of the tunnel, calling on all and sundry to pray for the success of the present administration.
