Civilians Encroaching Into Police Landed Property In Jos, Retirees Cry out

policeA group of concern retirees of the Nigerian Police Force have express worry over encroachment on police landed properties across the state by civilians.

In a statement made available to the media sign by retired DSP Danjuma Ahmed on Monday in Jos, the retirees condemned in its totality the way and manner civilians have taken over most of the properties of Nigerian Police force in Jenta Makeri , Rangtya Low-cost and Federal Low-cost respectively.

 

The statement appealed to Inspector General of Police Solomon Arase to quickly address the situation before its led many police men and women been attack by the civilian claiming ownership.

“You would recall that AIG Joseph Mbu has decried the level of infrastructural decayed of police barracks across the country by calling on federal government to urgently address their plight and make the barracks comfortable to the policemen to function” .

It was made known to our correspondent that some of the civilians residents close to the affected barracks have now resorted converting some of their structures for businesses, the statement explained.

The statement noted that civilians have overran  Jenta Makeri with business activities and claiming they are paying rent to the police affairs department in the state.

The group appealed to IG to urgently put a stop and ensure sanity to all barracks in Nigeria for the safety of lives of officers.

At the time of filing of this report, the Police spokesman, DSP Emmanuel Abuh said, I am not aware but I will confirm from the Officer in charge of of works.
