Civil Society Honours Hajj Stakeholders In Abuja

Independent Hajj Reporters, a civil society that monitors and reports hajj and umrah activities in Nigeria and Saudi Arabia, said it will honour hajj stakeholders that excelled in service delivery to Nigerian pilgrims.

Officials from Saudi Arabian and Pakistani ministries of hajj, and other countries are expected to attend the event scheduled to hold in Abuja, the statement said.

A statement signed by its national coordinator Ibrahim Muhammed and organizing secretary, Muhammed Garba, said an organising committee has been put in place for the event.

The civil society is a registered faith-based non-governmental organisation who seek to enlighten Nigerian pilgrims on how to perform this most important pillar of Islam.

“Hajj Excellence Award is aimed at boosting the morale and encourages hajj administrators, service providers, and regulatory agencies to offer excellent services to dear pilgrims,” the civil society said.

The award categories include best state Muslims pilgrim’s welfare boards in terms of organisation, the welfare of pilgrims, among others; best state public relations officer, best service oriented tour operator; best hajj air carriers.
