Christian Pilgrimage: 255 Plateau Pilgrims Airlift To Israel, Charged To Be Good Ambassador

The Plateau State intending pilgrims from Nigeria to Israel have been charged to be good ambassadors through their conduct and behaviour and to embrace decorum in all they do while in the holy land.,

The Plateau Southern Senatorial District Chairman Hon Simon Domle gave the charge on Monday at the COCIN headquarters in Jos  during the official flag off of 2025 .

Speaking as member of the first batch of the pilgrims from Plateau State, Domle charged them to exhibit to the world their moral values and act of patriotism.

“When you go on pilgrimage, you have a number of people who are assigned to attend to you. Some of them are medical doctors. Some of them are nurses and some are just there to attend to you in case you need anything and they are to guide you appropriately.

“In international operations, it is wiser to call somebody you know than to talk to somebody you met because somebody may give you a bag to hold and the next moment, you will find that police will catch you because there may be drugs inside the bag,” he said.

He expressed happiness to be member of the first batch of intending Pilgrims thanking God .

“Pilgrimage must begin and end at home. We want to have a Christian pilgrimage camp where we spend two or three days together before you embark on your spiritual trip. This is crucial this is the beginning of the pilgrimage. So, you enter the land with better information and greater preparation. We are hoping that that project will commence sometime next year,” Domle assured.

He admonished pilgrims to go to holy land with expectations and come back with new zeal, and tasked the church to take responsibility for the faster and better development of Nigeria.

Simon charged the pilgrims to believe in Nigeria and make it a nation of their dream irrespective of challenges confronting the country.

“Can we give Nigeria an honour, a platform of standing and strength that will be envied by the whole world. Can the church provide a template for Nigeria? What can the church do to make Nigeria what it ought to be? Every house is built by somebody, so every nation must be built by somebody,” he said.

Domle called on the pilgrims to be ambassadors of the country while in the holy land ,we should not spoil the name of the country by appealing to the pilgrims to cooperate with the appropriate authority.
