Chieftaincy Installation In Oguta 2018: Chief Mrs.Ifunanya Emerges As “Ogbuefi”

“Ogbuefi” is the highest Chieftaincy tittle bestowed and given only to a valued, respected and honoured woman from Oguta land a sign of traditional identification for strong daughters who have done great especially for their various community developments as married women, though unmarried ladies/women in the area with keen interest towards obtaining the same tittle is allowed to join the Ogbuefi Prestigious Society.

In line with upholding that ancient traditional rites established only for women to join,the people of Oguta LGA of Imo State was on last Wed.Dec.26th 2018 usually as part of honouring and respecting their female folks mostly the married ones,officially installed one Chief Mrs.Ifunanya Nwabuikem Onwuta,who is married to Mr.Onyebuchi Onwuta,from Onitsha in Anambra State as Ogbuefi I of Oguta.

The installation ceremony attracted so many people from across the area,most especially friends,well-wishers,relatives who trooped out enmass to witness the her chieftaincy installation which took place at Ogene Road in Oguta Urban.

Speaking,the Celebrant,Ogbuefi Ifunanya expressed great joy and satisfaction to be recognized and honoured by her people. She promised to always do the needful especially in the area of community building,assistance to the orphanage,visiting to the poorest of the poor,the widows and those in needs.

Ogbuefi Ifunanya therefore added that she is ever ready and poised to save lives and those who can not afford to pay their children’s school fees.

In his voice,the Husband to the newly installed Ogbuefi,Chief Onyebuchi Onwuta,thanked them for honouring his wife by her own people. He promised to support and encourage her to do more both in financially,materially and otherwise.

The President of Ogbuefi Prestigious Society,who spoke through the Association’s Treasurer,Ogbuefi Chief Mrs.Canola Obua,described her chieftaincy as a merit following to her developmental strides in Oguta land.

She furthermore noted that her tittle as Ogbuefi is the highest chieftaincy tittle given every matured daughter of Oguta who are mostly married.

Also,Ogbuefi Chief Mrs.Love Ogbonna,appreciated the installation of her new member described her as the youngest Ogbuefi in Oguta.

 “She will now be involved in the decision making body as a woman in the entire land of Oguta. She can now talk when men are talking if permitted. She can now make corrections when things are going wrong. To join,you must married but if not married,but have no questionable characters can be admitted”,Ogbuefi Love said.

Meanwhile,an elder statesman in the family of Onyia,Chief Londonia George Onyia,said she is my younger sister married in Onitsha in Anambra State but because of her respect and contributions to the growth and unity of Oguta she was bestowed with Ogbuefi.

“The tittle is highly valued and recognized in Oguta,even as he congratulated her as Ogbuefi”,Chief Londonia said.

Chief Onyia enjoined her not relent in her continuous acts of given to the poor even as he prayed Almighty God to always guide and protect her and families.
