The Association of Tippers /Query owners of Nigeria, Plateau State Chapter has raised concern to the state government to kindly intervene by considering their members’ plight in providing them with parking space that can help in elevating their suffering, as he blacklisted one revenue officer of complacency in failing to grant their request.
The Chairman of the chapter, Alh.Bala Musa Audu in an interview with our correspondent at the headquarters in Zarmaganda Junction of Jos South Local Government Council on Monday said the association paid for a space in Jos South LGA but the Director in charge of Revenue collections has refused to provide the park to them due to his alleged his secrets dealing with the mechanics who are now occupying the land.
He explained further that; “we have over 400 members littering across Jos South LGA alone with 90 tippers and we are generating income to the council.
He added that the council charged them N200, 000.00 and promised to provide them with their own garage, “but only called and informed us that they can now share the space by joining the mechanics that are already on the ground.”
According to him, the challenges faced by the tippers owners Association, Plateau state chapter is the incessant attacks and killing of their members in Bassa LGA and Jos South including vulnerable areas during the mayhem.

He said, “we have maintained a cordial working relationship with the council, but he expressed his disappointment with the manner recent development that the council collected money from the association and the R.O kept dribbling them without being sincere to the agreement reached.
Musa Audu,” noted the association is dully registered with the state government through the office of Commissioner for mines and solid minerals, since January 2021, we paid for the space for the park to kick off within Jos South but we are now hearing stories that the mechanics were also part of the small land that was paid for so now even our tippers can’t enter all talk less of joining us with them.
The association accused the Revenue officer of Jos South, One Humphrey Katyen whom they alleged paying through him without any impact, we contributed in generating revenue to the council yet we are being treated as second class citizens “.
We have challenges in all the parks which we are still renting from landowners, the government has refused vehemently to grant us land to freely operate, the only park that the tippers are claiming ownership of is Dariye park close to NTA but all these are privately owned not the government.
