Chairman Doma LG Pleads With Governor Sule To Reconstruct Doma-Idadu-Akpanaja Road

The Executive Governor of Nasarawa  State, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, has again promised to reconstruct the deplorable Doma-Igbabo-Okpatta-Rukubi-Akpanaja, a border town road between Nasarawa and Benue State. This was an appeal made by the Executive Chairman of Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State to the State Governor.

The Chairman stated this during the official commissioning and handing over of a clinic built by the Nigerian Air Force at Rukubi Community of Nasarawa State.

There was fanfare and applause as the Chairman attributed the rising waves of crime and criminality to the deplorable condition of the road network.

“The Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, while responding to the plea of the Chairman, buttressed that concerted efforts would be taken to reconstruct the road.

Stating that, “I’m having a nightmare because of this particular road as well as other roads that are miserable, I mean not accessible to road users.

“Before the expiration of my tenure, I will make sure I reconstruct this road; other roads that needed urgent attention are the Idadu-Agbashi 24 km road”.

Engineer Abdullahi Sule attributed the delay in the completion of the project to the contractor handling the road project.

“The Governor explained that there are a lot of challenges. The contractor is too slow, saying Sisin-Baki road has been completed”.

He, however, said Mararaban Udege-Mbeki, Doma-Rafin Gabas-Karshi roads would be taken care of. The Governor stated that when he assumed office on May 29th,2019, Lafia Local Government, The State capital, was glorified.

“Saying Lafia can boast of all the basic infrastructures in six years”.

There was an ovation from the people of Rukubi, Akpanaja, and surrounding communities with the proclamation made by the State Governor.

The paramount Ruler of Akpanaja, the Osakpa of Akpanaja, Alhaji Musa Abari Agye lauded the State Governor for accepting to reconstruct the deplorable road from Doma to the boundary of Benue State.

The Executive Chairman of Doma Local Government Area, Honorable Jonathan Okuba Addra, in his welcome remark, commanded the Nigeria Air Force for the building, equipping, and handing over to the Local Government, saying the gesture would cement the relationship.

He, in addition, takes the responsibility of providing health personnel to the clinic. He explained that the benevolence was in the right direction.

They called on the State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, as a matter of importance to reconstruct Doma-Idadu-Okpatta-Rukubi-Akpanaja to the Nasarawa-Benue border.

Honorable Jonathan Okuba Addra attributed the rising waves of banditry, kidnapping to the deplorable condition of the road, saying the Chief Executive should make a frantic effort to construct the road.

According to him, “As the Executive Chairman of Doma Local Government, I want to leave Doma Local Government Area better than I met it”.
