Case Of Impersonation Of Gov. Lalong:  Chief Security Details Alleges Forgery Scandal “Denies Knowing Accused.”

A man impersonating Governor Simon Lalong in Plateau State who was arrested with incriminating documents of the APC logo and coat of arm and whose case has been taken to court, has his case adjourned to the 12th November 2020 to enable for calling of two more witnesses.

 

The Governor, Chief Security details, Chief CSP  of Police, Ephraim Damian who was cross-examined by the 1st accused person counsel, Barr James Alechenu on whether his client was arrested at home and the said documents recovered on his possession at home.

 

The Pw1, Ephraim told the judge that he was present during the crackdown exercise where they found some incriminating vital documents and, he ordered for the arrest of Adam Hassan over impersonating as his boss.

 

Sir, can you tell this honourable court whether my client, Adam Hassan has used that documents to dupe any other victim outside what is recover from him, CPS, says,” no sir, I don’t know about that”.

 

CSP, Ephraim testified before a Federal High Court sitting in Jos, Division on the alleged forgery of purported documents linking the accused person, Mr. Adam Hassan to an All Progressive Congress, APC, logo, and Nigeria coat of arm.

 

The chief details, CSP  Ephraim Damian, PWI told the court that he didn’t identify the second accused person who has been in correctional center languishing for the crime he knows nothing about.

 

While on cross-examination, S irabor told the court that he can’t ask any further question because the second defendant was not found guilty for committing the crime he is accused of impersonating.

 

However, the chief security details explained that on the 30th December 2020 they received information from an informant that one Adam Hassan was using some documents purported to be connected to Executive Governor Simon Lalong.

 

According to the PW1, CSP. Ephraim Damian says the accused person was using the APC and coat of arm to disguise as Governor Simon Lalong’s name in duping people and he used his office to track the culprit somewhere around Yan Taya market through the informants’ information.

 

He said, “I have work with Governor Simon Lalong for the past five years and I can identify his handwriting when I see one but the culprit forges the APC logo and coat of arm with the Governor signature in it “.

 

Justice Dorcas Agishi accepted the documents in evidence which was tender before the court as exhibits, Ephraim added we affect arrest and handed him over to command headquarters for further investigation.
