The Chairman Bauchi State Chapter of The Christian Association Of Nigeria (CAN) Rev. Joshua Ray Maina said, all the 19 Northern states have rejected in totality the purported emergence of Dr. Samson Ayokunle as the association’s President in Nigeria.

This was just as he confirmed that CAN is currently threatened by crisis attributed to the unlawful election that purportedly produce Ayokunle as the CAN president and describe it as illegitimate.

Maina made the stunning revelation in a chat with newsmen in Bauchi as he said; all 19 Northern states were schemed out of the process of CAN election process alleging the connivance of the out-going CAN president.

“It’s unfortunate that the former CAN president Pastor Oritsejafor was hell-bent to ensure his deputy Rev.Dr. Samson Ayokunle most succeed him as if they have something to hide, especially  now that Buhari is out to fight corruption, if not why  would they evade court order regarding the legal process of CAN’s election,” said Maina.

According to the chairman, the CAN president position is now the turn of the North, but regretted that Rev. Emmanuel Gado which happened to be the candidate was utterly blackmail as President Buhari’s candidate apparently to settle their perceived scores against the Northern Christian.

The fiery man of God urge the former CAN President to toe the path of honour and distance CAN from the current dirty deal of Nigerian politics as the association represent an oracle in the house of God.

He describe the purported election  as lacking merit saying  19 Northern states deserve to be given unreserved apology for denying it the CAN president position even when it was agreed it will produce the next president.

However, out of the 30 years of CAN formation the North has occupy the president position only three years and we feel this is an injustice” queried Maina.

Maina lamented that, it was unpalatable to have heard that Rev.Emmanuel was said to have been kidnapped as a cover to carry on with the purported election of the CAN to the detriment of the sole candidate of Northern states in the person of Rev. Gado.

He maintained that CAN northern states will not succumb to any intimidation and humiliation in their determination to ensure justice is done to the region before the development will force Christian communities washing its dirty linen before the public.

The chairman confirmed  that there is serious leadership problem in CAN following the purported election that produced Ayokunle urging the anti-graft agencies to beam its search light apparently to unearth the shoddy deal of the former CAN president in connection to arms deal.
