It was a barrage of terror as suspected herdsmen attacked a Nasarawa community, Tse Yange, predominantly inhabited by Tiv people in Obi Local Government Area.
The suspected assailants launched a brutal late-night attack on Sunday, where they murdered the community’s traditional ruler and whisked away several villagers in a coordinated attack that has left residents reeling in fear.
This medium gathered that the attackers rode into the farming community on motorcycles, opening fire and setting off a wave of panic.
A resident who shared details about how the attack happened said the attack continued into the early hours of Monday, leaving many wounded and forcing numerous families to flee their homes.
“At the moment, it is still unclear how many people were abducted or injured during the attack,” the source added.
The area remains tense, with residents calling for urgent security intervention to prevent further violence.
