NLC National President Calls For Removal of the State Police Commissioner, Bello Abubakar

The Acting Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris may have to consider removing the current new Nasarawa Police Commissioner, Mr. Abubakar Bello following series of uncharitable events that has happened under his Command barely a month that he assumed responsibility as New Police Commissioner Nasarawa State.

This is as information available to this medium, indicates that two Nasarawa State Civil Servants were today killed by Police officers attached to Nasarawa State Government House Security, while others sustained various degrees of gunshots injuries.

Information available to this medium showed that the ensued fracas happened following the visit of the National Leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC to Nasarawa State, as well as to pay a courtesy call to the Governor of the State, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura.

However, things turned sour when the NLC National Leadership led by their National President, Ayuba Wabba got to the Government House for their visit to the Governor, but were surprised as they were refused entrance by the Government House Security, however after much waiting they the NLC National Leadership were allowed entrance, but were made to trekked from the 1st gate of the government House to the Last gate of the Government House.

As learnt from this medium, the NLC National President and its executive members waited for the governor for more than one hour without seeing the governor, however universalreporters247.com also learnt in their continued waiting for the Governor, they got information that some of their members have been killed while others sustained various degree of gunshots injuries as a result of ensued fracas between them and the Government House security.

Also a Police Officer was knocked down by the car of the General Manager of Nasarawa Broadcasting Service, NBS whose car windscreen was smashed following fracas between him and the Police at the Government House when he tried to drive into the Government House and they Police were refusing him entrance.

The NLC National Leadership left for the Police Clinics where they said civil servants who died and those that had gunshots injuries were taken to, and from there they left to other hospitals to ascertain their members who may also be there receiving treatments.

Universalreporters247.com also gathered that among the killed civil servants is a staff of the Ministry of Education, the second person place of work is not ascertain as the time of filling in this report, as one Rabiu Hamza a staff Nasarawa Newsday is at the moment at the intensive Care Unit, ICU, while Salihu Umar who is a staff of Doma Local Government also sustained gunshot injuries, as well four others whose identity has not been known as at the time of filling in this report.

While speaking to Journalists, the NLC National President stated that they are going back to the Government House, to tell the Governor what happened, as he called on President Muhammadu Buhari to remove the new Nasarawa Police Commissioner, as he said he is not fit to be a Police Commissioner.

When accosted by Journalists, the Police Commissioner, Mr. Bello Abubakar stated that nobody died, and nobody sustained injury.

Universalreporters247.com learnt that over 2000 civil servants came out in solidarity to the NLC National President, Ayuba Wabba and his Executives during his visit to the Nasarawa State Government House for a courtesy call on the State Governor, Governor Al-Makura.

This incident between the Police and the State Civil Servants at the Government House where two civil servants and many others were injured is coming barely 24 hours after Nasarawa Police allegedly killed three students of the Nasarawa State Polytechnic.

The impasse between the Nasarawa State Government and the workers has continued unabated as the state civil servants are currently on strike owing to the salary cut by the Al-Makura administration which state civil servants has not taken it lightly.

Universalreporters247.com learnt that, since the impasse between the State Government and the workers began, the Governor has not met with them one on one to discuss these issues, that he only sends either the Deputy Governor or the SSG to represent him, and most their discussion does not yield any fruitful result.
