Breaking: Inspector General Of Police Appears Before The Senate As Protesters Storms National Assembly In Solidarity With Him(Photos)

The Inspector General of Police is currently at the National Assembly to honour the invitation of the Senate which was extended to him following the allegation level against by Senator Isah Misau.

Meanwhile, online news platform premiumtimesng.com reports that hundreds of protesters on Wednesday afternoon occupied the entrance of the National Assembly to show solidarity with the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris.

The convener of the protest, Gloria Ugbeji, said such solidarity march is important based on the various reforms she said the police chief has brought to the service.

She said it is important for Mr. Idris to be “left alone to focus on what he is doing.”

Also universalreporters247.com learnt that the Police IG is accompanied by members of the Police Management Team as well as police officer from the public relations department.

Meanwhile, it was gathered by this medium that a detachment of heavily armed policemen has barricaded the National Assembly premises following the appearance of the Inspector General of Police, IGP, Ibrahim Kpotum Idris, before Senate.

The heavily armed policemen are stationed around the National Assembly premises ahead of the appearance of IGP Idris.

The heavily armed police officers were stationed at the strategic places of the National Assembly entrance.

Detachment of Police at the National Assembly

The IGP was accused of non-remittance of annual generating revenue which is about N120 billion and was accused collecting bribe before officers can posted to juicy places.

It would be recalled that the Police Chief last Friday Idris indicated his readiness to appear before the Senate ad-hoc committee investigating him over allegations of corruption.

The Senate Panel is is investigating allegations raised against the police boss and the Police Service Commission, PSC by Senator Isah Misau.
