Nigeria’s lower chamber, the House of Representatives on Wednesday suspended Abdulmumuni Jibrin its former Chairman of Appropriation for 180 sitting days.
The Kano lawmaker who accused Speaker of the House, Yakubu Dogara and three other lawmakers of padding the 2016 budget with N40 billion was suspended for allegedly breaching the practices and precedents of the House of Representatives.
Jibrin is also required to tender a formal written apology to the House before he can resume sitting.
The Kano lawmaker is also barred from holding positions of authority in the House till the end of the 8th National Assembly.
