Gunmen have attacked Jos Correctional center located in Jos the Plateau State Capital.
According to reports from eyewitnesses, the gunmen who it was gathered stormed the facility around 5:30 pm Sunday evening, started shooting sporadically within the Prison buildings which is situated along Joseph Gomwalk road.
As gathered by this medium, some inmates of the prison were said to have escaped in the ensuing melee while other inmates were fatally wounded while trying to escape.
It was also gathered that the latest attack witnessed a heavy gun duel between the gunmen and the security operatives who were trying to repel them.
