Breaking: Fresh Attack In Plateau, As Gunmen Invade Yelena Shangam In Jos North, Kills Over 35 attack

Some gunmen on Tuesday night invaded and attacked Yelwan Zangam community, close to the permanent site of the University of Jos, killing about 35 people.
It was gathered that the attack occurred at about 9 pm on Tuesday despite the dusk to dawn imposed in the Jos North as well as Jos South and Bassa local government areas.
The attackers reportedly shot sporadically, gunning down fleeing residents and burning some others within their homes.
The Gunmen raided Yelwan Shangwam and massacred the entire settlement burning houses, including the occupants who were not spared.
The Naraguta Nation is one ethnic tribe in the middle-belt minority threatened by the Fulani herders militia in Nigeria by foreigners infiltrating over landowners.
The political upheavals and turmoil by foreigners raiding settlements in Plateau villages call for urgent but federal and state governments have refused to curtail the rising web killings.
However, this is a community that never had a land dispute or bordering with Hausa Fulani of Jos North LGA but was attacked at Yelwan Zangam in Jos North LGA.
Their dead bodies have been deposited at the Plateau specialist hospital.
Plateau Police Command, spokesman, ASP Gabriel Ubah confirmed the incident.
He said: “We are aware of an incident in the area.”
