At last a new Chief Justice of the federation has emerged, he is Justice Walter Onnoghen, his emergence followed the retirement of Justice Mahmud.
The inauguration ceremony of the Cross River born judge took place today at the council chamber of the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja, and was witnessed by top officials of Government.
The swearing ceremony happened at exactly 2:20.
Justice Onnoghen will act until a name of substantive CJN is forwarded to the Senate and it is confirmed.
Justice Onnoghen’s inauguration was as a result of the retirement of Justice Mahmud Muhammed who clocked 70 today.
