Police officers in Borno whom are deployed on Special Duty took to the streets on Monday, blocking the highway to protest their nonpayment of their six months allowances.
As learnt the officers were deployed to the State from various police units within the country in a bid to fight the insurgency in the State.
As it the Police officer who are angry were seen shooting in the air an action which forced motorists to run for their lives as they scamper for safety.
Among the grouse of the irate officers include lack of good and comfortable accommodation; they also argued that they sleep within the passages of officers and even open air sometimes.
Meanwhile, while speaking to Journalists, Borno State Police Commissioner, Damian Chukwu, added that they Police hierarchy, are aware of the situation as he added that they delay in payment of the allowances is due to the late signing of the budget.
