Bomb Blast Hits Bauchi Central Market

Fresh bomb blast  has  hit Bauchi Central Market  in northern Nigeria ,Monday evening .

Eye witnesses said many people were killed but the exact  casualty figure  could not be determined  immediately.

The bomb blast occurred in the busy Bauchi Central Market in the evening at the time when both traders and customer were about to retire home after a hectic day.

Many of the buyers, especially women who came to shop for Christmas celebration were caught up  in the web of the bomb blast.

The evening blast came hours after  another bomb explosion   went off at Dukku Market in neighbouring Gombe state.

Police authorities in Gombe said 19 people were killed while about 25 were injured in the Gombe blast.

The Bauchi blast came  just as the emergency officials and other security agencies were battling to cope with the Gombe blast earlier in the day.

Government officials had warned that insurgents were planning attacks on soft targets during this festive period.
