The Chairman of Bogoro Local Government Area of Bauchi State, Surveyor Yakubu Lawi Sumi on Friday distributed 15 motorcycles to the 13 Ward councillors, Personal Assistant and Special Adviser on Political matters.
The distribution of the fifteen motorcycles held at the premises of the local government Secretariat.
He said that the thoughtful initiative aims to ease the transportation challenges faced by the ward councillors and advisers, ensuring they can focus on their duties without worrying about how to get to their workplace.
The council boss said that the motorcycles will not only reduce the burden on the councillors and their families but also bring development to the 13 wards that make up the local government.
According to the chairman, “Let us continue to support and encourage our dear Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir, who is always supporting us in all our activities.”
The Chairman urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the motorcycles for the development of the 13 Ward, Bogoro, Bauchi State, and Nigeria at large.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, the councillors’ leader, Honorable Gwandah Simo,n known as Gatan Kowa, expressed their appreciation to the local government Chairman for providing all 13 Ward councillors and two of his advisers.
Gwandah Simon, who is also the councillor representing Bogoro C.Ward, promised on behalf of the beneficiaries in other to make good use of the motorcycles to support the administration of the local government Chairman, Surveyor Yakubu Lawi Sumi, and the State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir.
Stakeholders that graced the occasion were the chief whip of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Honorable Wakili Musa Nakwada, member representing Bogoro constituency, the former Bauchi State commissioner of water resources, Barrister Jidauna Tula Mbami, Governor Bala’s adviser on Christian Religious Affairs, Pastor Zakka Luka Magaji, Honorable Ishaya Dangana.
Other stakeholders are Permanent Secretary Ministry of Local Government and Chieftancy Affairs, Mrs Saratu Musa Jibrin, the immediate Chairman of the local government, Honorable Markus Bitrus Lusa, former Chairman, Honorable Elisha Tula Gwamis, Haruna Mandabson, Hassana Arkila, Comfort Yassan, Para Simon, known as (Lola).
