Bindow Commends Buhari For Appointing Adamawa Indigenes In Key Positions

Gov. Jibrilla Bindow of Adamawa on Sunday commended President Muhammadu Buhari for appointing Adamawa indigenes into key and strategic positions in his administration.

Bindow made the call in Government House Yola, while playing host to Indigenes of the state who are occupying various political positions at the federal level.

He said that the state was lagging behind in term of development, nothing that it was among the poorest communities in the world.

He told the delegation that his administration has inherited a debt burden of over N40 Billion.

 

He added that the revenue allocation to the state had dwindled tremendously.

The governor expressed his resolved to run a transparent government, to enable his administration to fulfil some of his campaign promises.

Bindow said that his administration would continue to support federal appointees as well as the federal lawmakers to achieve their goal for the people of the state.

He urged them to attract investment to the state.

“I want to commend Mr President worthy of appointing Adamawa sons into strategic positions at the federal level. I have already booked an appointment with him and I will personally thank him for this kind gesture, I wish to appeal to you to add value to the state by attracting investments to the state. I will synergize with all of you to bring development to our dear state.”He said

Jibrilla added he not afford to fail his people because they voted him and they expect much from him, I wonder how they will react if I fail them.

“To me, I will continue to run a transparent government and I would not mind to be briefing you with all details of our developmental activities.’’ He said

Earlier, Mr David Lawal, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) said that they would attract more appointments and development to the state.

Lawal, who was the leader of the delegation, expressed their resolved as a group to cooperate with the state to bring development as well as improve the living condition of the people.

He said that they would make a difference, nothing that the people of the state had occupied more strategic positions in the past but neglected the people.

He urged the governor to carry them along in decision making bordering all segments of political administration in the state.

“We are here to pledge our unalloyed loyalty to our state.We have undertaken to cooperate with the state to bring development that will improve the living condition of our people. He said

He also said that our people have occupied more strategic positions than us in the past but neglected the people, but we will make a difference. We have resolved to work as brothers and we want the state to emulate us because we don’t consider ethnicity, religion, local government of origin, and even sex in our development agenda.

“We want to assure you that we will do all we can to attract investments, employments and additional revenue to our state.”

He urged the governor to thank Buhari for his magnanimity to the state. Members of the delegation included; the SGF, Alhaji Mohammed Bello, Minister of FCT, and members of the National Assembly from the state.
