The National President of Berom Youths Moulders-Association (BYM), Mr. Gabriel Sunday Badung has urged the youths to do what will encourage peaceful co-existence during the Governorship and State House of Assembly elections in the state.

Badung made the disclosure on Thursday while briefing Journalists in Jos and urged members to come out enmass and vote a candidate of their choice who will genuinely work for the unity and plight of the people.

“It has become mandatory at this point in time to come up with a position that will be for the best interest of the Berom nation.

“A lot of tension, anxiety and apprehension were experienced during the delay in announcement of result for Plateau North Senatorial election. We appreciate God Almighty that during and after the announcement, no life was lost.

‘Though, some little attempts were made on the property and life of some individuals. We condemn such unruly behaviour in totality and that should not repeat itself. We should not indulge into any act that will undermine peaceful co-existence in the state.

He advised the youths not to avail themselves as tools in the hands of politicians who will not add any value to their lives.

“We want to make this position known to the public that we have our people in different political parties and the impression that we belong to a particular one is false.”

Badung applauded government, INEC and security agencies for conducting a peaceful elections in Plateau and urged them to make significant improvement on the next election.

“The security situation today has become a selling point for some politicians, which is very unfortunate. We implore politicians to use issue based and superior arguments to sell their candidates, rather than cheap blackmail and insults.

“We are using this medium to call on all our teeming youths to be mindful of their disposition regarding those in positions of authority because the reality of life is that you reap what you sow.

“Those politicians who are using us for dirty jobs do not mean well for us and our immediate families. We have realized that some people, who have succeeded in destroying our yesterday and today, are also bent on taking advantage of our tomorrow by using some of us to achieve their evil machinations.”
