Berlin Institute For Cultural Diplomacy to honor sultan with international Ambassador for peace and culture

The Berlin based Institute for Cultural Diplomacy (ICD) in Nigeria is set to honor Sultan of Sokoto Alhaji Abubakar Sa’ad with the ambassador for peace and culture.
This is contain in a statement signed on Tuesday by Mr Dickson Omorigie, Country Director of ICD and made available to newsmen in Yola.
“The institute is pleased to acknowledge your demonstration of religious responsibility by participating in the Inter Faith Dialogue at the Vatican, Italy and in Belgium.
“ ICD is delighted to send greetings of goodwill and prayers for more wisdom and long life to His Eminence and the entire Sultanate council and the good people of Sokoto.
“This is informed by the Sultan’s contribution to the global peace dialogue held in Vetican in 2014.
“Therefore, the ICD has directed its office in Nigeria to appreciate you (His Eminence) with an award and a Certificate of Honor before a national and an international audience in Abuja.
According to the Country Director, because he has interfaced with other religions globally, it has earned him this prestigious award.
The statement acknowledge the sultan’s role in ensuring peaceful conduct of 2015 general elections as well as bringing an end to insurgency in Nigeria and other parts of the world is most commendable.
The statement further said the Honor is First of its kind the institute will accord to a man worthy of such honor either within Africa or beyond in recognition of his roles and contributions to Global Peace.
“The essence is to unveil some efforts and sacrifices made by His Eminence so far in the realization of high degree of Peace in Nigeria.
The statement said that the investiture is expected to be attended by both international figures and Nigerian personalities.
The ICD is an international non-profit, non-governmental organization, founded in 1999 with headquarters in Berlin, Germany and the U.S.A.
Its ultimate goal is to promote global peace and stability, by strengthening and supporting intercultural relations at all levels.
