The Legend Football club of Doma Local Government Council of Nasarawa State has emerged as the winners of Hon. Bello Akoza Challenge Cup Final by beating Ogene Football 5-3 in a penalty shootout.
The overseer of Ekye Development Area of Doma Local Government, Hon. Bello Akoza expressed optimism during and after the tournament.
He disclosed this during the grand finale held at the Central Primary School Football court in Doma at the weekend, The overseer during an interview with Journalists opined that the reason behind the competition was to unite his people especially the youth.
Hon.Akoza said he would do everything possible to unite youth through Football, he in addition buttressed that organizing Football competitions at the Local level was meant to catch and expose talented footballers in the locality.
He stated that the importance of Football can never be overemphasized in any given society as he appreciates the teams that participated in the competition for exhibiting maturity.
Bello who is vying for the exalted seat of Doma Local Government said he would beam his searchlight on the security of lives and properties of his people.
Ambassador Omaku while presenting the trophy to the best player of the Legend Football club, Shabban said all the teams that participated in the competition are all winners.
The Nigerian Ambassador to Sierra Leone, Amb. Henry John Omaku while presenting the trophy to the captain of the Legend Football club said he would ensure that the Final of his Football competition which was on hold for quite a long time would come to an end.
“I will make sure that the Final of my Football competition would in no distance time commence soon before I will travel for my national assignment outside the country”.
The organizer of the Football competition, Aminu Danhutu appreciate all the teams that partake in the match for their maturity.
He called on the well to do people in Doma Local Government to support the football competition.
The grand finale was chiefly attended by key political appointees at both the Local and State levels.
