The proposal was slightly reviewed from N145,447,258,163 to N147,,950,699,413 to fund some critical sectors that require additional funding.

This represent an increase of over N2.5 Billion above the initial figure to take care of salaries, gratuities and capture grants from donor agencies to help coordinate the activities of development partners and boost internally generated revenue of the state.

The Chairman of the House Committee on Budget and Appropriation Yakubu Shehu Abdullahi while presenting the report of the committee noted that cleaning services in all MDAs should be centralized in Ministry of Finance to achieve better prudence.

He said the proposed single treasury account should be implemented with vigor so as to ascertain the true revenue of the state and urged government to adopt strategies that would help reduce the burden of gratuity owed retirees in the state.

The committee however recommended for government to explore additional sources of revenue and introduce new tax regime to shore up the revenue profile.

The Chairman also advised that the state planning commission and the treasury division should develop means through which performances from grants can be captured and monitored effectively.

The Speaker Kawuwa Shehu Damina in a unanimous resolution announced the passage of the Bill and commended all MDAs and sub committees of the Appropriation committee for ensuring the success of the budget.

He urged MDAs to collectively look inwards for more additional sources of funding and minimized wastage and pilfering associated with funds received from the Federation Account.

The Speaker noted that all due process were strictly adhered to in compliance with the state fiscal responsibility act and the medium term expenditure framework contained in the 2017 to 2019 Fiscal strategy Paper.
