Bauchi State Assembly Speaker Suleiman Donates Relief Materials, Cash To Flood Victims In Ningi

The Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y Suleiman has donated relief materials and cash to the victims of the flood disaster at  Gangare and Maje villages of Ningi Local Government on Tuesday.

 

Presenting the materials to the victims, the Speaker while sympathizing with them for the calamity that befell on them, urged them to take solace in the fact that every Muslim would be tested by the Almighty Allah with either good or bad fates to strengthen his faith.

 

According to the Speaker, he received the news of the flood in the villages and the collapse of Gadar Mulka Bridge with great shock, hence the reason of his prompt visit to the scene of the washed away bridge and villages ravaged by the flood.

 

He explained that while the collapsed bridge is being reconstructed by the Executive Governor of Bauchi State His Excellency Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammad decided to take it upon him to provide relief materials to them in order to cushion the effect of the destructions and losses caused by the flood.

 

Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y Suleiman also went around the villages to assess the level of damage caused by the flood, assured the communities that relevant agencies of the State Government will also come to their aid.

 

The items distributed include 20 bags of rice, 20 bags of maize, 20 Bags of Millet, bundles of 100 mats, 50 blankets, 100 plastic buckets and pieces of house utensils.

 

Also speaking during the disbursement, Special Adviser to the Speaker on Political Affairs Alhaji Isah Haruna Tiffi said that the Speaker is very responsive to the yearnings, aspirations, and condition of his people, thus the reason for his daily interventions and initiatives in the Constituency.

 

He attributed the ascendancy of the Speaker from state to national limelight to what he is doing to his people and the love and prayers of the constituents.

 

Speaking on behalf of the victims, Malam Saleh Mai Wuri expressed the gratitude of the victims to the Speaker for what he described as unstoppable kind gestures to the community. He prayed to Almighty Allah to reward, bless and protect him.
