The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Bauchi State Command said it has seized over 143 kilogrammes of illicit drugs and arrested more than 50 drug traffickers in the State including a 22-year old woman who is a divorcee within the last one month.
State Commander of the agency, Mohammed Sokoto who disclosed this on in an interview with newsmen in his office in Bauchi regretted the high rise in drug peddling in the State in view of the forth-coming general elections. He was however, quick to point out that the NDLEA in the State had intensified its efforts in mopping up drugs within the state to ensure a hitch-free election.
“The issue of drug trafficking is a very serious matter not only during election period but even at other times” said Sokoto
The NDLEA is pose to Intensified efforts in making sure that we mop up all the black spots and flash points “where drugs are being abused Sokoto stressed.
