Bauchi LG Chairman, Markus Restrict Night Movement Over Security Challenges

Markus Bitrus Lusa, Chairman of Bogoro local government area of Bauchi State has restricted the movement of people in the night due to the issue of security challenges of kidnapping, armed robbery, and other criminal offenses.

The Chairman made the concern when he paid an official visit to the three district heads of Bogoro, Lusa, and Boi respectively, all from Bogoro LGA.

He said the purpose of the visit is to solicit the support and cooperation of all traditional and religious leaders toward bringing an end to kidnapping and other insecurity challenges bedeviling the area.

The chairman used the occasion to direct traditional rulers to immediately submit the names of foreigners living in their domain who are not indigenes of Bogoro.

According to the Chairman, Lusa said “I want to inform you that Bogoro LGA has banned all forms of night grazing beginning from this August 2023. This development does not aim to witch-hunt any person or groups of persons but it is to ensure security of lives and properties, anybody who is found breaking the law will be arrested and prosecuted, he stated.

On their part, the 3 district heads of Bogoro Mr. Nuhu Tafida, Mr. Dauda Joshua Zabas of Lusa, and Mr. Bala Ibrahim Likita of Boi, expressed satisfaction over the steps taken by the chairman saying is the right step the right direction.

The three district heads stated that the incidents of kidnapping for ransom is causing a sleepless night to their subjects and pledged their unalloyed support to the chairman and security agencies to bring it to an end.

The local government Chairman, Honorable Markus Bitrus Lusa, expressed his appreciation to Governor Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir of Bauchi for giving him support in all his activities.
