Bauchi Igbo Community Dissociates Self From Biafra Agitators

Apparently miff  by the reflection on Nigeria’s Biafra’s civil disturbances  on the need for unity and peace, Igbo Community in Bauchi has distanced itself from the pro-Biafra agitators, who had been protesting in many cities in the South East and South –South, calling for secession from Nigeria.

The Eze Ndigbo of Bauchi State, His Highness Eze J. Umezika stated this in an interactive session with the State Commissioner of Police Baba Tijjani in Bauchi at the weekend,in an effort to enhance existing police public partnership towards effective policing in the State.

‎Mr Umezika express worried over the recent agitations by certain individuals in some sections of the country, noting that Igbo Communities in Bauchi are not in support of anything that will undermine the unity and peaceful co-existence of this Nation.

‎He assured their willingness to give maximum support and co-operation to the Police in order to provide safety and security in the state.

‎He however commended the Commissioner of Police for the warm reception, hard work and selfless service of the officers and men of the command in ensuring peace and stability in the state.

In his remark, the Commissioner of Police Baba Tijjani assured the Igbo Community that the Command is fully committed to providing safe and secure environment for all citizens.

‎He urged them not to relent in providing useful information that may assist in protection of lives and property in the state.

It could be recalled the Apex socio-cultural group had recently staged protest in southern and Eastern part of Nigeria including those in Diaspora demanding thtate of Biafra with many killed.
