Bauchi Government Discovers 1,500 Quack Teachers Under Its Payroll

The Deputy Governor of Bauchi state Engineer Nuhu Gidado has said that the  government has discovered about one thousand unqualified teachers under its payroll following the government intensive efforts to get rid of quacks in the system.

He made the statement while interacting with the inspection team from National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) in tour of the state for enhance improved education.

Engineer Gidado had requested for the provision of additional colleges of education in the state to facilitate the production of qualified teachers to cater for pupils in basic and post basic schools categories in the state.

Gidado urge the NCCE inspection team to exhibit justice to Bauchi state in respect of the newly established Institute of education in Kangere  in accreditation of its courses in line with the policy of education in the country.

The deputy governor had lamented over the decay in the education system and attributed same to the successive administration of PDP for not doing nothing to improve education.

Earlier, the Director Academic, NCCE headquarters Dr. Mohammed Sani Ali said, they were in Bauchi state to inspect and interact with principal officers and academic staff of the institute to facilitate the smooth take-off of the college in line with the standard policy of education.

Ali warn them to ensure they have original certificate from various institutions of learning to guarantee their stay with the institution saying only competent hands in place will justify the accreditation process of the institute.

The newly appointed Provost, Institute of education Kangere Dr. Garba Ibrahim Kirfi said, the institute has functional microbiology and integrated science laboratories including standard library for enhance teaching and learning.

He assured the team of the institution support in the genuine determination for improved education explaining that Bauchi state government under the present administration is focus to improve on educational standard.
