The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Rahila Garba has advised Nigerians on the urgent need to preserve the future of school pupils by providing them with a conducive learning environment.
Rahila Garba who is an indigent of Kauru local government area of Kaduna State serving in Bauchi State, made the call during the commissioning of the 1 block of 2 Classrooms constructed by herself at the Gudum Hausawa primary school on Tuesday in Bauchi.
“At the time I was posted here for my primary assignment, I discovered that the school lacked more Classes and the learning environment was not conducive for the pupils and the management of the school, even the state of the present structures is already dilapidated and needs urgent renovation as most students attended classes under trees”
Adding that “It was this horrible experience that gave birth to the idea for the construction of the additional classes. At first, it was not easy to bring this idea to life considering my financial capability because I was ever determined and so passionate to see that the project was put to life”
” I decided to make some consultations of what it will cost for the construction of the entire project and I began shuttling here and there seeking approval and doing some paper works and I finally got the approval from the Habibu Engineering Nigeria Limited for sponsorship”
The corps member, Rahila Garba said ” I challenge you today to rise and contribute your quota to the society to make it a better place for all of us and our future leaders by supporting good education.
Rahila expressed her appreciation to her colleague’s corps members who supported and encouraged her until the project finally came to an end.
She also thanked the NYSC directorate for approving the project and the financier of the project who partnered with her to ensure that the work was executed professionally and successfully to the end ( Habibu Engineering Nigeria Limited).
On his part, the traditional leader of Gudum Hausawa, Alhaji Umar Tukur appreciated the corps member for the gesture saying it would benefit the entire community for generations to come.
He expressed their appreciation on behalf of the entire community to all those who supported the project and appealed to the Local Government Council to construct the road and a bridge in the community saying school children found it difficult to cross to school during the rainy season.
