The Newly Appointed Commissioner of Agriculture in Bauchi state, Hon. Jidauna Tula Mbami has appealed to the staff of the ministry to support him wholeheartedly to work towards justifying the huge investment by the government in the sector.
Jidauna who was addressing the staff of the ministry when he assumed office today, expressed gratitude to Governor Bala Mohammed of the state for re-appointing in his cabinet.
The Commissioner who took over the ministry of Agriculture from Acting Permanent Secretary, Barrister Saratu Musa Jibrin in reception to welcome him, said he was happy that the Governor found him worthy of reappointment.
Tula, who also thanked the staff of the ministry for organizing the warm reception solicited their cooperation and understanding in order to move the ministry forward.
“I urge you to give me the needed support to work to the expectations of the state government and justify Governor Bala’s huge investment in the agriculture sector in the interest of farmers and consumers”, he said.
The Commissioner assured all directors and staff of the ministry of running all-inclusive affairs, promising to operate an open-door policy that will enable them to take part in decision-making in line with Governor Bala’s vision and mission.
He urged them to be committed to their assigned responsibilities by coming to the office in good time and closing as stipulated in the civil service rule.
“By doing so, dedicate yourselves to the duties assigned to you and total loyalty to the state government, I will make you all happy in the ministry”, he added.
Earlier in her welcome address, the Ag. Permanent Secretary, Barrister Saratu Musa Jibrin, expressed delight in having Tula whom she described as a “workaholic” as commissioner of Agriculture in the state.
She assured the commissioner of total support and commitment of all officers and staff of the ministry, praying God to grant the newly posted Commissioner the wisdom to steer the ministry to succeed.
