The Executive Secretary of the Bauchi State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Hon. Samuel J. Haruna has urges members in the state to continue to pray for the success of the 2023 general elections.

As the ban on electioneering campaigns for the forthcoming general election has been lifted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), it urges all Christians Candidates and their supporters to conduct themselves according to the rules of the electoral act.

Hon. Samuel, who made the appeal in an exclusive interview with our Correspondent in his office on Friday pointed out that good leaders can only emerge if the voters submit and dedicate their supplications to God for such leaders to take charge of the affairs of governance before casting their votes.

“It’s only by summiting and dedication to the Almighty God that Nigerians will choose good leaders to rule our dear country”, the executive scribe of the board said.

He urged the citizens, particularly the youth, to shun selfish politicians who may want to recruit them as thugs before, during, and after the 2023 general elections.

Added that all the political Candidates should not take it as do or die affairs and to bear in mind that it is God that gives power to whom he wants. It is not only spending huge amounts of money during campaigns, hate speech, and fake news that will make a candidate emerge as a winner.

Hon Haruna appealed to the Christians to choose leaders that would bring development and take good care of the citizens, adding that only leaders who would unite the people should be voted into power.

The Executive Secretary, while appealing to Christians to vote for the candidates of their choice, encouraged them to only go for those who have compassion and would end the lingering security challenges bedeviling the country.

“I pray that God should direct us to elect leaders that will take us to the promised Land”, he prayed.

The executive secretary said it was high time that Nigerians should wake up from their slumber and elect people that are going to genuinely serve the country and salvage it from total collapse.

“No place is safe anymore. You’re in your house and not safe. You can’t travel by road, you can’t travel by train, and even our trains on which so much money was spent are not functioning and are grounded”, the ES lamented.

Hon. Haruna called on the electorates to vote out any candidate that is not ready and willing to protect lives and properties of the citizens.
