The Bauchi state Chapter Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rev Dr. Abraham Damina Dimeus has called on the Zaar/Sayawa people of Bogoro and Tafawa-Balewa local government areas of Bauchi state to ensure unity among themselves in order to improve on the progress they have worked so tirelessly over the years to achieve.

Rev. Damina preaches this during the funeral service of one of the Zaar icons, Baba Wakili Boyi in Bar, Bogoro local government area of Bauchi state on Friday, described Sayawa extraction as one of the hardworking and peace-loving tribes in Bauchi State and Nigeria at large.

“I want to say that if there is any tribe that has moved forward and is proud of its sons and daughters, I think Sayawa tribe is one among them because they have been fully blessed by God. There’s nowhere you can go that you cannot find a Zaar man who has excelled”, he said.

The CAN Chairman while challenging Zaar)Sayawa people to make good use of the lessons of life they learned from people like the late Baba Wakili Boyi and emulate them, warned that failure to do so will expose them to danger.

According to him, the death of the late Baba Boyi who died at the age of 110 is not a loss to the Zaar people alone but Bauchi state as a whole.

“For someone to attend the age of 110 is not a joke, you are lucky to have had someone who reached up to that age before he died, most people are not so lucky to attend that age, and I pray that some of you will by God’s grace live to attend that age”, the CAN Chairman prayed.

Rev. Damina while sympathizing with Sayawa people on behalf of all Christians in Bauchi over the loss expressed belief that the late icon has gone to be with God.

While speaking, Governor Bala Mohammed who was represented by the state Commissioner of Agriculture, Barr. Jidauna Mbami Tula, described the deceased Zaar icon as a peace-loving man.

Bala Mohammed who stated that the death of the late Baba Wakili was a great loss, called on the Sayawa people to ensure unity among themselves and other tribes within them.

In his sermon titled: ‘Prepare well, death is waiting for you’, Rev Samson I. Gida of Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN), LCC, Bar challenged people to always be prepared for death as well as watch the way they live their lives.

The Clergyman lamented that the way people are living their lives as if death will not come calls for concern stressing that no matter how long one lives, death must definitely come one day after which everyone will stand before the throne of judgment to give account.

Samson Gida also stressed the need for forgiveness among the people in accordance with the teachings of Christ in order for peace and unity to reign in the land.

Late Baba Wakili Boyi Bar was born in 1912 and was the Chairman of the revered and highly esteemed Zauren Baba Gonto which is the highest advisory and decision-making organ in Zaar nation.
