The Coalition Against Corrupt Leaders(CACOL) position on Lagos State has been vindicated by the statement of the former Lagos State commissioner for Environment, Dr. Muiz Banire, who is also the acting national legal adviser of All Progressives Congress (APC).

Dr. Banire has said that he is not satisfied with the current performance of Lagos State ministry of Environment and Lagos State Transport Management Agency (LASTMA). He made the statement while granting interview to a correspondent of the Daily Newswatch newspaper.
According to former Commissioner, the ministry of environment is underfunded while the present LASTMA is not the LASTMA of his dream; It would be recalled that LASTMA was created when Banire was the Commissioner for Transportation in Lagos State.

Reacting to Banire’s statement, the Executive Chairman of CACOL, Debo Adeniran stated that it is clear to all and sundry that Governor Babatunde Fashola regime’s assessment has been over bloated by his media aides.
He said, “It is very unfortunate that the present regime has lost the grip of what it takes to govern a cosmopolitan state like Lagos. The present situation is worse in the annals of Lagos history. Government embarks on white elephant projects just to bamboozle some gullible Lagosians. This government has been characterised with unnecessary and excessive donations, lack of due process in budget implementation, illegal deduction and diversion of statutorily allocated funds as well as inflation of cost of contracts.
It is also disheartening that Fashola’s government is fond of opening illegal accounts, borrowing indiscriminately and sidelining MDAs when contracts affecting them are executed. A point of serious consideration is the fact that about 65 per cent involved in the financial recklessness is from the people’s tax.”
There is urgent need for accountability in governance even when the public shower accolades on the government in the course of performing his side of the social contract he entered with the people by his election.”
