21 lawyers were on Friday conferred with the rank of Senior Advocates of Nigeria, SAN, by the Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee, among those include Dr. Muiz Banire who is the APC National Legal Adviser, as well as Emeka Etiaba son of the former Governor of Anambra State.
Also Dr. Oladapo Olanipekun , the son of the former President of the Nigeria Bar Association, Chief Wole Olanipekun.
There are also Ibrahim Bawa, Edward Ashiekaa, Benson Nwankwo, Joseph Bamigboye, Patrick Okolo, Prof. Maxwell Gidado, Dr. Tahir Mamman, Dr. Akinpelu Onigbinde, and Samuel Zibiri.
The new SANs also included Adeniyi Adegbonmire, Aderibigbe Adedeji, Emmanuel Aguma, Abimbola Akeredolu, Olumuyiwa Akinboro, Gordy Uche, Uchechukwu Obi, Kehinde Eleja and Prof. Paul Idornigie.
Of the 21 names, three are from the academic, they are Gidado, Mamman, and Idornigie were of the academic category while the rest of the 18 lawyers were conferred with the rank as advocates.
The only female among the 21 successful lawyers, Akeredolu, was one of the three females in a total of 124 applicants that applied for the rank when the application entry opened in January.
