Bandits Kill 4 Persons, Abduct 13 Others, Set Ablaze One Military Armoured Car In Dansadau, Zamfara State

At least 4 persons have been killed and 4 others left with injuries when bandits invaded Dansadau District in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State, North-West Nigeria in the early hours of Friday.

 

The bandits also abducted 13 persons to unknown location and set ablaze one military armoured car stationed in the community to provide security for the people in the area.

 

Sources from Dansadau town have told ait.live that the bandits stormed the community at about 2:30am and operated till around 5:30am.

 

The sources say the number of bandits who invaded the community could be between 300 to 500 and they came from different directions, shooting sporadically into the air to scare the people to enable them carryout their evil act.

 

The locals explained that the security operatives made tremendous efforts to repel the criminals but were overpowered due to the large number of the bandits and this resulted in the burning of the military armoured car.

 

Residents of the Dansadau town have deserted their community to seek refuge in other safer communities until normalcy returns to the area.

 

Friday is the market day in Dansadau but because of the attack there is no business.

 

When ait.live contacted the Zamfara State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Mohammed Shehu to confirm the incident, he said he was currently working to get the details of the situation.
