Citizen John Akevi
The recent appointment of Bala Wunti, as the new MD GGM/ CP&S of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), which can only be described as a reward for ability, hard work, dedication, commitment, perseverance and zest for integrity.
This appointment, according to discerning minds, is worthy amidst the myriad of appointments made recently by the Group Managing Director of NNPC Dr Maikenti Baru. Many Nigerians were excited because for once the government has spotted a reformer for the Department that urgently needs reforms.
Bala Wunti, a cool-headed, easy-going, charismatic with sound academic background and profound public administrative skills will brings his rich experience to rejuvenate and reinvigorate the oil sector.
Apart from his new position, he was a seen-all-done-all in the oil and gas industry, serving in various capacities over the years.
Bala Wunti had worked in various capacities in both the upstream and downstream sectors of the industry, including: General Manager, Downstream, GMD’s among others.
As I wish Bala Wunti, good health, wisdom, knowledge and divine understanding in office.
I have no doubt on my mind that he will not be found wanting in his new assignment as well, as his ability to use his office to positively impart the lives of all Nigerians.
While appreciating President Muhammadu Buhari, the NNPC Boss Maikenti Baru for finding him worthy of the appointment, I therefore, congratulate Bala Wunti on his merited appointment, I enjoin him to endeavour not to disappoint his people and Nigerians in the discharge of his duties. He must be focused, steadfast, committed, diligent in his new assignment without being distracted by fifth columnists and agents of provocateurs.
It is of course an appointment well deserved.
