A top political stakeholder in Niger State has accused the governor, Babangida Aliyu of plotting to blackmail a strong contender for the governorship seat to pave way for his anointed candidate, Umar Nasko.
According to the politician who spoke under anonymity, the governor is allegedly involved in orchestrated plans to sponsor people to dig out unfounded issues about the aspirant.
The purported victory of Nasko in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primaries is still hotly contested by Hannafi Sarkin Sudan who came second.
In his suit before an Abuja Federal High Court, he wants the court to nullify confirming with the party electoral guidelines and the electoral act.
The PDP stakeholder asked “If PDP is busy nullifying primary elections in other State, why can’t they take a stand on the alleged bad conduct of the primaries in Niger State? Don’t let me believe that the allegation that members of the PDP electoral committee for Niger were bribed

While speaking to a PDP stakeholder through a phone conversation he said “if Governor Aliyu doesn’t control his personal interest and hunger to control the next administration, he will be the reason why opposition will win Niger state in 2015”
