Baba-Hassan Urges Plateau Assembly To Constitute Committee On Fire Outbreak In Katako Market

The Member Representing Jos North -North Constituency, former Deputy Speaker, Hon Ibrahim Baba-Hassan has commiserated with victims of Saturday fire outbreak where good worth millions were destroyed in Laranto Katako market.

 

In a press statement made available to our correspondent at NUJ, Plateau state Baba-Hassan urged those families to exercise patience and see it as an act of God.

 

He noted that the fire which breaks out at Laranto market that situated in Jos North/North area where wood and other roofing materials are sold.

 

Ibrahim stated that the colossal damage caused by the inferno amounts to N50million according to the leadership of the market because the fire has destroyed shops and valuable materials of the traders.

 

He called on the state House of Assembly to constitute a committee which will go to the scene of the tragedy to sympathize with them and to ascertain the actual remote cause of the fire outbreak.

 

He said the House should oblige SEMA and other respective authorities in the state to provide relief materials to the victims.

 

Hon Baba-Hassan revealed that an agency concern with averting and taking care of fire outbreak and other calamities of such should be stationed within the market.
