This was disclosed by Ameer of Kano Sheikh Muhammad Mahmoud Turi in a speech after the first stop over of the mass trek at Na’ibawa area.
Sheikh Turi said the women dressed in Hijab and carrying explosives were identified and apprehended following a tip-off by a woman at a house close to the take-off area, as they exhibited suspicious movements which was reported and were later apprehended by state security operatives.
He also said, a plane was also impounded in Kano on Saturday, a day to the take-off of the Arba’een trek, carrying mass arms, saying that all the two events were not accidental but delibrate attempt to attack the Arba’een trek as earlier hinted by the Leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, His Eminence Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky.
He therefore called on Brothers and Sister to intensify prayers in order to avert all evil plots and machinations of the enemies.
Sheikh Turi enumerated vitures of the trek and its associated rewards before Allah, and encouraged the people to be steadfast.
A special prayer was offered at the point and the trek proceeded.
