The Lawmaker Representing Katsina-Ala East State Constituency, Rt. Hon. Jonathan Agbidyeh has condemned, in strong terms, unknown gunmen’s attack on Akpuuma Village in Mbazun of Ukum LGA, Benue state.
Agbidyeh described the attack, which resulted in the death of over 20 persons with several others injured, as ‘inhuman, senseless and unwarranted’, saying “the attackers must be brought to book”.
This is a painful and highly regrettable situation especially at this period when the people are striving hard to earn their means of livelihood”, urging the people of Ukum to remain calm as State Government promised to do everything possible in bringing lasting solutions in Sankera.
“My sympathies are with the families who lost their loved ones in this callous act. These senseless killings are painful and highly condemnable. I pray that the Almighty God accept the souls of all those who lost their lives in this unfortunate incident”, he said.
The lawmaker also urged the citizens to continue to support measures put in place by the federal and state government in bringing the ugly attacks under control.
