The Former Vice President of Nigeria,Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who is also the PDP Presidential Candidate for the Feb.16th 2019 general elections in Nigeria, on Tues.22nd Jan.2019 graciously stormed Owerri Imo State, for the South East PDP Presidential campaign rally.
The national event which took place at Dan Anyiam Stadium Owerri attracted top govt. officials, party national leaders, lovers and supporters of PDP who trooped out in their millions in solidarity to Atiku.
Some of the party registered members at the political campaign-rally ( party men, youths and women) from across the entire South East States who are. mainly of the PDP extraction were armed with different kinds of political banners, posters, placards inscriptions and chanting all forms of victory songs ahead of the polls.
The stadium galleries were filled to its peak as mammoth crowd which no one could be able to count waited happily and patiently until the arrival of the presidential candidate, his entourage and the national leadership of PDP ably led by the National Chairman of the party, Hon. Chief Uche Ike Secondus.
Some of the Southeast Governorship candidates of PDP extraction and some sitting Governors who are also aspiring for their re-election bids in attendance are Governor Dave Umahi, of Ebonyi State, Gov.Okezie Ikpeazu, of Abia State, Gov.Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, of Enugu State and the Imo PDP Governorship candidate, Rt.Hon.Emeka Ihedioha, amongst other candidates of the party, was handed the flags of the party as flag bearers that were described as a sign of victory in the forthcoming polls by the National Party Chairman.
Other political juggernauts and bigwigs of the party from Imo State (Governorship aspirants, Senatorial candidates, House of Reps.and State House of Assembly candidates) who were present includes: Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu (Ahaejiagamba Ndi-Igbo), Sen.Sam Daddy Anyanwu, Hon.Sir.Jones Onyeriri, Hon.Ezenwa Onyewuchi, Hon.Barr.Chukwuma Ekomaru, SAN, and so many party candidates for various elective positions come Feb.16th/March 2nd, 2019.
In their respective speeches, the Vice Presidential Candidate, Chief Dr.Peter Obi,(Okwute Ndi-Igbo), the Senate President, Dr.Bukola Abubakar Saraki, who is also the Director General of Atiku Campaign Organization, Dr.Alex Obi, Hon. Dennis Agbo, a candidate for House of Reps.in Enugu State, expressed their passion to ensure that PDP wins elections in the forthcoming polls.
They, however, encouraged and appealed to Imo people in particular and Nigerians, in general, to vote for PDP, protect their votes for Atiku and vote for all the candidates of the party.
The PDP National Chairman, Ike Uche Secondus, thanked Imo people and South East people for their support to his party.
He described President Mohammadu Buhari as an incompetent leader.
“The forthcoming polls is going to be between incompetent Buhari verses competent Atiku. APC under Buhari is busy celebrating ignorance. They are shameless. APC can never deliver. They have nothing to offer. But PDP is committed to delivering”, Secondus stated.
“To INEC, the National Chairman of PDP warned against rigging. He told INEC that the election cannot be rigged, lest you cause mayhem and crisis. No more intimidation. Nobody will fool you and me anymore. APC are dwelling in ignorance”, he submitted.
Chief Secondus said Imolites and Nigerians must be liberated in 2019, even as he expressed optimism that Atiku will win as President to restructure the country when elected.
Speaking, the PDP Presidential Candidate, Chief Abubakar Atiku, said the rally held in Imo State is to take over the state, all the South East States and Nigeria by the PDP govt.
He appealed to Nigerians and Imolites to vote for PDP and remain at the polling units and polling booths until their votes are counted and announced at the various polling centers.
“You must endeavor to vote and remain to protect your votes for Atiku and PDP from top to bottom and vices vasa”, he appealed.
“We will help you set up businesses for Nigerians. We shall restructure our country. APC is an evil political party, they are wicked and bad to society. They brought to us youths unemployment, insecurity, hardship and every negative thing. They turned Nigeria into the capital nation of poverty. They have destroyed the Countries economy from 6% to zero. The poverty rate in Nigeria is very high under Buhari’s govt. of deceit, propaganda, and lies. But my govt with PDP as President, we shall restore the lost glory and recover the nation’s economy”, Atiku assured.
