A staunch supporter of the ruling All Progressives Congress in Nasarawa State has called on President Muhammad Buhari to as matter of urgency redeploy the Commissioner of Police in the state, Bola Longe, and deploy a more committed Commissioner that would work with other sister agencies without any hassles.
The core supporter of the party said the insecurity in Nasarawa State is worst than the #Endsars protest which has claimed lives and valuables in some part of the country, the party man in an interview pleaded anonymity said people no longer sleep with two eyes close due to pockets of abduction in Nasarawa exist extended to the state capital.
He called on President Buhari to consider the plight of the people whom he described as agrarian, in addition, said farmers no longer go to their farm or harvest crops as well business men and women no longer have the courage to go to village markets due to insecurity.
He faulted the state Commissioner of Police for diverting operational vehicles to his convey while vast of the police outpost in the state are operating without operational vehicles, He also revealed that the majority of communities are existing without a police outpost to boost of.
An investigation revealed Omgbolo, the country home of former members of the Nasarawa state House of Assembly, Hon. Jacob Okari Owa is a community with a population of barely 300 households but is relying on vigilante for security, as the route from Gudi to Omgbolo (Angora) according to Hausa pronunciation is a safe haven for criminals whose activities are unchecked for over two years.

He also appealed to the Inspector General of police to properly utilize police chopper deploy to conduct surveillance in the north-central states with its base in Nasarawa state, saying stringent measure should be taken to maintain the police chopper by the Federal government instead of allowing the government of Nasarawa state to shoulder the maintenance.

Engineer Abdullahi Sule during an emergency security meeting with heads of security operatives in the state has resolved to strengthen security agencies working in the state through the provision of vehicles and logistics to enable them to respond rapidly to distressed calls.
This was part of the resolutions arrived at during the emergency security meeting convened at the instance of the Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, which held at the Government House on Monday.
Briefing journalists shortly after the meeting, state Commissioner of Police, Bola Longe, said the security council has decided to strengthen security agencies in the state, through the provision of sufficient logistics, particularly vehicles and communication gadgets.
According to the police commissioner, such efforts will enable the security agencies to carry out their constitutional duties with ease.
“The state government has promised that vehicles will be provided and these will assist security agencies to attend quickly to distress calls,” the CP stated.
CP Longe explained that the emergency security meeting was convened to review issues bordering on the kidnap and murder of the state chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the late Chief Philip Tatari Shekwo.
He assured that the security agencies will get to the root of the matter.
Earlier, in his opening remarks, Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, said the meeting was not unconnected with recent happenings in the state, particularly the murder of the APC chairman, another loss of life in Udege area of Nasarawa Local Government Area, as well as the death of a young man barely 24 hours after the APC chairman was killed.
Engineer Sule said his administration strongly believes it is the responsibility of government to protect the lives and property of the citizens, stressing that the meeting was convened with a view to taking steps that will ensure the protection of lives and property of the people of the state.
According to the Governor, if the life of the APC chairman, who has some measure of protection, could be taken so easily, then much needed to be done in order to protect the ordinary citizens.
He however noted that one area that is lacking in the state, is the rapid response from security agencies.
“I think the period it takes for us to respond to crisis-We have to discuss this in detail so that we can find lasting solutions.
“If we are able to respond quickly, most likely, we will be able to save lives,” he said.
The Governor used the opportunity to appreciate security agencies operating in the state, traditional leaders, government agencies and communities, for putting in their best to ensure the state has some measure of sanity compared to other states.
