APGA Gubernatorial Candidate Accused Nasarawa APC, PDP For Secret Plot To Rig Elections By Rabiu Omaku, Lafia
Barely forty six hours to the commencement of governorship and Houses of Assembly elections, The gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance in Nasarawa state, Labaran Maku has unveiled an underground plot by the ruling party in the state, The All Progressives Congress and the strongest opposition party, The People’s Democratic Party to intimidate supporters of APGA from voting in the state.
The former minister gave the indication at a press briefing held at manyi suit in Lafia, The state capital, Maku said the party was informed of the calculated attempt by the APC and PDP to hunt supporters of APGA from voting, The front line politician also decried the ongoing campaign of calumny and destruction of party billboard by the two political parties.
“The APC and PDP are seriously into campaign of destruction of my billboards, go to Lafia gate up to Karu all my billboards were destroyed by the thugs of APC and PDP he raised eyebrow”.
Labaran Maku accused the ruling APC for wooing electorate with money to vote for the party, stating that the APC lacks direction as a party,He further lambast the two top contenders under the APC,Umaru Tanko Al-Makura and the PDP governorship candidate, Yusuf Agabi for lacking leadership qualities to change the fortune of the people .
“Nasarawa has the highest number of cancelled votes in the last presidential and national Assembly elections, can you imagine that 79,000 votes were invalid, All this are part of the plan” ,He added.
Maku accused the ruling party in the state for hacking card readers in the state, He listed some of the Local Governments under the influence of the ruling party to include Wamba, Keffi and Awe, calling on party supporters to remain peaceful, determined and dedicated during and after elections.
“I don’t need people’s blood to be the governor of Nasarawa state, He promised to restore peace as well ensure equal opportunity, justice and fairness to all and sundry if elected as the next governor ‘’.
Also speaking, The director General Maku Campaign Organization, Musa Saidu alleged the importation of fake soldiers by the ruling APC to muddle up election, He also accused the ruling party for inducing officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Buttressed that the delay in the distribution of election material signify the connivance of Inec and the APC.
Appealing to the chairman of Inec to redeployed the Resident Electoral Commissioner, The briefing witnessed unprecedented crowd mostly Eggons from all the three senatorial district of the state.
