The first lady of Ondo State Governor, Chief Mrs. Betty Akeredolu-Anyanwu, who is seeking to represent the people of Owerri Zone Senatorial District under the political platform of APC in Imo State, come 2023, was on Saturday, May 28th 2023, totally rejected the idea of consensus for the ongoing All Progressives Congress (APC) Senatorial primary election in Imo State.
Madam Betty who hails from Emeabiam in Owerri West LGA of Imo State, is at as the time of filing the report facing four (4) other aspirants from Owerri Zone APC contesting for the Owerri Zone Senate.
Amidst the four (4) aspirants includes: Dr.Kemdi Opara, Prince Alex Mbata, Chief Jerry Chukwueke and Prince Hillary Ugochukwu Nwachukwu (Ugosly).
Speaking at the Imo APC State Party Secretariat on Saturday, (May 28th), Mrs. Betty-Anyanwu-Akeredolu stated, “I want my party-APC to conduct a free, fair and transparent primaries. I am pleading with the National Working Committee (NWC) of our party to know that any result coming from these obvious kangaroo elections from Imo State for Imo East Senatorial District should be rejected, there was no election held.
“I am not part of any consensus plan by other body. The said consensus must be under my foot, let’s go to the field, if I lose, I will accept the results and congratulate the winner”, Betty insisted.
