APC Merger Is A Revolution-Ex Communication Minister
A onetime communication minister in the then military era, Retired General Ahmed Abdullahi Aboki has described the ongoing talk on merger of opposition political parties in the country ahead of 2015 presidential election as a revolution, The defeated contender in the 2011 Nasarawa west senatorial seat under the aegis of the ruling Congress for Progressive Change said only revolution will serve the soul of the nation from misrule.
Describing revolution as peaceful or bloody revolution, the former military Governor of Kwarra state advocated for revolution as the only panacea to unchain the masses of Nigeria from the clutches of poverty and agony, stagnation and squalor, deprivation and unemployment and insecurity of lives and property, saying Nigeria is on a life support, adding that Retired General Buhari and Ahmed Tinubu are the only solution to the ailment that hold the nation to ransomed.
Retired General Aboki hinted this at the CPC stakeholders meeting of North-Central held at Ta’al Conference Hotel Lafia, challenging chieftains of the party and supporters alike to be committed, honest and be dedicated. He further avers that commitment and sinceritywill lead to the success of the party in its quest to take over the baton of leadership from the Peoples’ Democratic Party come 2015.
Aboki cautioned stakeholders in the ongoing merger talk to be devoted at all times, adding that the maximum support of all and sundry became necessary from both those in power and those outside power,
In his own speech the state Governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura who was represented by the Honorable commissioner for Environment and Natural Resource, Danladi Madaki ascribed the PDP 13 years of heralding the affairs of the nation as a charade, describing thenation under PDP as a total failure.
Adding further the Governor said the nation is descending to the abyss attributing the failure of the party to the unabated insurgency in the north, high level of unemployment, lamenting the bad conditions of roads in the country.
The Governor said the current administration is committed towards ensuring that the ongoing merger of the opposition parties sees the light of the day.
