APC Leader In Benue Killed By Gunmen

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, Ejeh Udeh, has been shot dead by unidentified gunmen in a late-night attack at his residence in Otukpo.

The assailants, who stormed his home on Sunday night, reportedly opened fire in the presence of his family before escaping.

The incident has thrown the community into mourning and heightened fears of insecurity.

“This was clearly a targeted attack,” a community leader said, describing Udeh as both a politician and a unifying figure in the area.

The Benue State chapter of the APC described the killing as a devastating blow to the party.

A senior member, who asked not to be named, urged security agencies to swiftly bring the culprits to justice.

Police spokesperson for the state command confirmed the attack and said investigations were ongoing. “We will leave no stone unturned in apprehending those behind this heinous crime,” he assured.

The killing adds to the escalating wave of violence in Benue, which continues to grapple with armed attacks, banditry, and communal unrest.
